This month marked a heartwarming moment for the Rise to Shine Education Foundation, as

several alumni of its scholarship program returned to the organization’s offices not as

beneficiaries, but as proud students of various colleges and universities across Kenya. Their visit was a testament to the power of opportunity and the life-changing impact of education.

The alumni, now pursuing courses ranging from education and business to nursing and

engineering, shared their journeys with the staff. They expressed gratitude for the

support they received and spoke about the challenges they’ve overcome and the dreams they are working toward. Their stories painted a vivid picture of transformation and resilience, proof that with the right support, young lives can truly rise and shine.

While the alumni visit brought encouragement and pride to the organization, another important journey was taking place. RTSEF staff members travelled to Elgeyo-Marakwet to check on the welfare of the current students under the scholarship program.

The visit was deeply personal.

Staff took time to visit homes, meet with guardians, and talk to the students about their

well-being, school life, and any challenges they might be facing.

The welfare visit was not just about monitoring progress; it was about reminding the students

that they are not alone. It reinforced the foundation’s commitment to walk with them every step of the way, not just financially, but emotionally and socially.

Together, these two events highlight the full circle of impact. As alumni move forward in life,

their stories inspire continued support. And as current students push through their education journeys, the foundation remains by their side, offering more than just scholarships, but a lifelong community of care and encouragement.
